BRIM is from the Knoxville TN area. The band was founded as a praise and worship cover band by Jack Belcher, (Lead singer and guitarist) in 2004. With original members Dale Johnson, (Guitarist) Mike Wines, (Drums) and Barry Gregory, (Bass) the direction of the bands material changed to writing its own material in an effort to bring a more cutting edge to the Christian rock and metal genre. In 2011, BRIM changed bass guitarists, adding Paul Belcher as the new bass player. The band feels that the Christian community is loosing an entire generation of believers because it does not provide a genre of music to answer the call of the metal and rock masses. When this is left up to the secular world, it exposes believers to a world that does not have the same values as those that are faith based. The need for hard heavy faith based music sparked the beginning of BRIM.
BRIM release the EP “Above the Ruins” October 31st 2006. The album was played on internet radio with great reviews. Songs “What If” and “Egypt” debut at number one and remained for four weeks.
BRIM released the LP “Declaration of Dependence” June 8th 2010. The new album has been reviewed by BRIM fans through 2010 as the band played a few tracks from at the time the unreleased LP. Songs like “Overcome It”, “Gonna Be Fine”, “Untold Story” and “Fakin” are destined to be Christian rock and metal classics. If you love hard rock and metal music or know some one who does, this is the album for you!
We are proud to announce the addition of Paul Belcher as BRIM’s new bass player! Paul has played guitar for years and recently began playing bass. Paul and his wife, Tanya, are natives of Newport and currently reside in the Knoxville area. He is a great guy with many talents outside of music and is going to be an awesome fit with BRIM.
BRIM welcomes you to join a new revolution in hard rock and metal.
